His .596 slugging percentage was fourth-best in the Big West Conference, and the sophomore finished the season with a 17-game hitting streak that will carry into 2010. He compiled a hit in every game until the end of the season, beginning with a 2-for-3 showing in the April 25 19-6 loss against Long Beach State. Nick also tied fellow Tiger, J.B., Brown for the most hits with 84 last year, as the conference's second-best mark all year. He also finished with six triples and led the Big West in total bases (130). The six triples ties for second place on Pacific's all-time single season list and Longmire brought his career triples tally up to sixth place with nine triples in two years at Pacific. Nick closed out 2009 ranked 24th in the country for his triples tally on the season. Longmire had two four-hit contests in 2009, when he went 4-for-6 at UC Santa Barbara on April 5, 4-for-5 at San Francisco on May 5 and 4-for-6 against Cal State Bakersfield on May 22. For another stellar year with Pacific, Nick was awarded his second all-conference award as the sophomore landed on the 2009 First Team All-Big West list.2008 (Freshman):
Nick had an outstanding freshman campaign at Pacific, starting 50 of the 51 games he played. He led the Tigers in three categories: overall batting average (.323), triples (three) and RBI (31). Longmire finished out the season with 64 hits, 10 doubles, three home runs and 16 walks in 198 total at bats. In addition, he had 18 multi-hit games, including two four-hit games and tied for the longest hitting streak on the team, with an 11-game stretch. Some of Longmire's notable multi-hit games included the Tigers' May 2-4 series against UC Riverside, when Nick went 7-for-10 at the plate, and the Long Beach series at the end of April when he went 8-for-15. On April 8, Nick went 4-for-5 against Nevada with an impressive five RBI -- the most he scored in a single game. Longmire's offensive display helped Pacific to a 14-3 victory over the Wolf Pack. Defensively Nick did not have an error in 54 Big West chances. Nick's spectacular numbers for the 2008 season secured him 2008 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America and All-Big West Conference Honorable Mention honors.High School:
Nick graduated from Grossmont High School in San Diego, Calif. in 2007, the same high school that produced former Tiger, Justin Baum. Drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 37th round of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft, Longmire chose instead to pursue his degree and play for the Tigers. The Grossmont North League and Division II Player of the Year in 2007, Longmire led the Foothillers with a .514 batting average, 56 hits, 15 home runs, 19 stolen bases, 36 RBI and a 1.010 slugging percentage.
